The Nina Guillory DuPont Perseverance Award

The Nina Guillory DuPont Perseverance Award

The Guillory-DuPont Perseverance Award is designed to recognize graduating students at Church Point High school who have had to overcome significant personal challenges and hardships. This award recognizes high-performing seniors who succeeded despite adversity—and now is the time for their names to be spoken aloud.

Nina Guillory-DuPont and Michael T DuPont Sr. began the Perseverance award silently in 2012, simply hearing of graduating high school students who overcame personal challenges and privately rewarded them. As Covid changed each of our thought patterns, they realized this award was a legacy to leave for future generations of graduating Church Point High Seniors.

This year, we received a total of 56 nominations. Each was reviewed and judged by an independent group using given anonymous numbers to keep the nominations private. We wish we could have presented each of you with an award today.
